Does the trainstation in london keep working after midnight on NYE?

I'll probably be travelling to Cardiff for this holiday season, and was planning to go to London for the NYE celebrations. Will the trains still be available to Cardiff after midnight? And if so, how much would the passages cost?

Thanks

Shoppers Hit the Stores for Last Minute Gifts

It's Christmas Eve, for some people, that means it's time to shop. At the Mt. Shasta Mall in Redding it showed.

"it's hectic people are rushing around, there's no parking," says last minute shopper Eddie Hartman.

It's not just procrastination that has shoppers out late this season. many of the people we talked to had other reasons to wait.

"{We're}waiting for money, basically that is what it is," says Stacey Bronson.

Bronson and her family hit the stores late hoping to save money by hitting all the sales. "It pays off to shop this late."

As people search for their last minute gifts, retailers are busy trying to squeeze every penny they can out of the holiday season.

That's good news for both procrastinators and bargain hunters, stores are not only ready for the last minute shopper, they're counting on them.

"The season this year was a little bit later this year. after the day after Thanksgiving this week has been a strong sales week," says Steve Yowell, Store Manager of the Sears in the Mt. Shasta Mall.

Waiting until the last minute has it's disadvantages, like long lines crowded malls and a smaller selection.
"A lot of things are sold out," says Hartman.

There will always be people who were too busy, put it off or just forgot to do their Christmas shopping.

If you're really in a crunch and can't make it to the store great gifts are just a click away.
If you can get to the computer you can easily get a quick gift that won't say, "I forgot you."

If you're not sure what to get just type "last minute gifts" into a search engine. There are lots of great tips for inexpensive gifts that don't seem last minute

Last Minute Christmas Gift Ideas at Bargain Prices

Are you one of those people who do their Christmas shopping all year long and have all of your gifts wrapped and ready to give by late October? If so, this article is not for you. However, if you're part of the other 98% of us who are frantically running around Christmas Eve night looking for something (anything!) that will make a half decent gift idea, this article is for YOU.

These days, although some of us are just procrastinators, most of us are just too darn busy to think about Christmas shopping. when we finally do think about it, the holiday season is already upon us, and the next thing you know it's Christmas Eve! others just are unable to get out to the stores any earlier. Take college students, for example. who has time to think about shopping when you're living on campus and the only thing you're worried about is when your next test is or when your paper is due?

I am notorious for waiting until the last possible moment to get Christmas gifts. usually because it's just hard to find the time. But a few years ago I came up with a great idea that's less time consuming than shopping and saves me a lot of money. instead of running around wasting time and gas, spending money I can't afford, I bake! I take one day and bake cookies, maybe a pumpkin bread, etc., and then I make up gift plates for everyone. with the "place and bake" cookies we have in stores now, it's even easier! it makes a wonderful gift. my family and friends love getting their gift plates every year! I make them festive by wrapping them up with colored plastic wrap and tying them with Christmas ribbon and bows. one year I actually had some money set aside, so I bought gifts instead of baking for some of my family. that didn't work out so well, they wanted their Christmas treats!

If you're not a baker, but you don't have a lot of time, there are other options out there also. one of the best ones is online shopping. Christmas shopping online is especially helpful when buying for friends or relatives who live out of town. The best part is that you can order their gift, have it gift wrapped (normally), and have it sent directly to them. Sometimes you can find some really good bargains shopping online too. most stores have online shopping available, and there are some great websites you can order off of too.

One other gift idea I've done before is giving the gift of pictures. There are a lot of different options you could do here. You could get a family portrait done at a discount photo shop. an hour or two spent getting photos done and you have gifts for everyone! Put the pictures of you and your family in some nice Christmas photo frames and you'll have a gift that will be treasured for years to come. Another option is to hire a photographer and do a photo shoot on location somewhere. Hiring a photographer may cost a little more, but the finished photographs are sure to be beautiful.

Books are a great idea for a last minute Christmas gift. A lot of people don't think of books. Get everyone a copy of the latest and greatest novel, or a special edition of a classic. The good thing about shopping at the bookstore is that they tend to not be quite as crowded as the mall and other stores, and hitting the bookstore, or anywhere else, at the last minute you're sure to find some sales. Buying everyone the same copy of a new work will save you a lot of time, money, and worrying about what to get when you run out a few days before Christmas.

Lastly, you can always fall back on the dependable gift of gift cards. People can always use a gift card. You can get the usual department store gift cards, or Starbucks, or even a lot of grocery stores offer gift cards now! with the price of food going up, anyone would appreciate a little extra at the checkout line! Gift cards are good because you can find them just about anywhere, and you don't have to spend hours trying to find that perfect gift. just having a general idea of what someone would like is all you need. so, have fun not shopping this year, and Happy Holidays!
